interaktiv me te ftuarit:

English:
Do you know how much forest area we are losing every day in Kosovo?
Are you aware of what has happened to our forests in the last 20 years?
These are some of the questions that have prompted us to research and analyze the state of forests in Kosovo. Through Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and using satellite imagery from the European Space Agency, we have learned that in the past 20 years the deforestation rate in Kosovo is alarming.
This is costing us our future, health, and the loss of fresh air. Why is this happening in our forests?
This invisible danger is silently stealing our future.
The time has come to act as if today is our last breath!
But it is not too late!
Individuals, businesses, and the government, let’s all unite! United we can protect the remaining forests, and regenerate what is lost. We can ensure a healthy future and clean air for all. We can develop the economy in tandem with an abundant natural system.
We invite you to join #MoseMerrMalin - the public event which marks the beginning of our movements for the protection and regeneration of Kosovo's forests. In this event, we will share the research we have done, along with the interactive map which visually shows areas of deforestation in the last 20 years.
The event will start with the presentation of #MoseMerrMalin and will continue with an interactive discussion with our guests as follows:
Indira Kartallozi - Founder and Leader of SLK
Fitore Pacolli - Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment & Infrastructure
Granit Gashi - Heinrich Böll Foundation, Activist
Nermin Mahmuti - Executive Director of the Community Development Fund, CDF
Faruk Foniqi - Geographer / GIS & Remote Sensing Specialist, IGGTK
Moderated by Mentor Dida - Social Entrepreneur
Join us in this discussion!

The deforestation research was led by Sustainability Leadership Kosova (SLK) in collaboration with the Institute of GIS and Geospatial Technology of Kosovo (IGGTK) , CorrelAid , and @MasterStory in the Netherlands. The #MoseMerrMelin campaign name and material were inspired by activist-participants of the #CreAct project supported by the @Community Development Fund as part of the @Human Rightivism Project.
